2012...

First things first, thank you all for all your support since the inception of this band. We hope that you will continue to support us as we delve into a new year as well as a new mindset.

We performed at the Civic Auditorium in Hanford last Saturday and we couldn't have hoped for a better way to start 2012. A big thanks to Justin Wiley for putting on the show and all the bands who played with us, it was a great show.

At this point in time, we are reassessing our current position and establishing a plan for this new year, plotting a course towards our idea of success. We hope that you will be in attendance at one of our upcoming  shows, we would love nothing more than to see you in the pit, or singing along, or both.

In addition, those of you who were able to catch our set in Hanford were the first audience to hear our entirely new set. Hopefully the music spoke to you as much as it speaks to us. We've put a lot of time into our new songs and we feel that they are the best pieces that we've ever written, and the maturation of our group since the Oceans EP era is quite apparent.

So, once again, thank you to everyone who has been with us since day one and to those of you who have hopped on the lunar lander on any of the days following day one, as well. Fortunate is not an adequate adjective to describe our band because of your support. A year can not be owned in a literal sense, so we can not say that it's our year. However, we will say this: "2012 is not the year of The Day I Ate The Moon. 2012 is just another year in which The Day I Ate The Moon will be doing great things."

That is all.

Update.

Ladies and gents, we've been busy, and we admit that we haven't been on top of things as far as informing you as to what we have in the works. So, here's a run down of what's happening:

1. We are writing, and demoing songs for the new album. It is our hope that you love them.
2. We recently had a photo shoot with Ross Johnson, who does excellent work. Check him out.
3. We will be recording a single soon. It is our hope that you will love that as well.
4. All of the above posts start with 'we', but you probably already noticed that.

Over the past few months, we've also played some noteworthy shows in Bakersfield and Fresno, which were a lot fun. We played some new songs at these shows as well, so if you're wanting to hear the new stuff before it's officially released, your best bet is coming out to a show and asking to hear the new songs. We will more than likely oblige.

In addition, we are keeping our eyes open for a second guitarist, so if you are interested or know someone who is, message us on Facebook.

It's been too long, friends.

Well, Hiddy Ho, neighbors. We hope you have all been well these past few weeks. You may be wondering why we've been off the radar for a little while, or you may not. We'll tell you why, anyways.

Some interesting things are in the works. Plans are being made. Schematics are being laid out. Physical and figurative schematics. School and work are being attended to. A dear friend of ours is back and we've been catching up. Traveling, getting inspired, writing, and talking a lot among ourselves to decide which direction we are going, which trail we are blazing next, our destination, etc.

We recently played in Palmdale and ventured a bit further south to visit our good friend Los Angeles, as well. Almost ran out of gas in a Jeepers Creepers-esque stretch of road heading back to the I-5 at 1 a.m., got ripped off at a Wendy's, got lost in LAX, experienced how Los Angelesians drive (if you can call it driving.) Overall, a wonderful experience.

So, please forgive the lack of major updates, friends. We have been busy. Talk to us on our Facebook, we love to hear from you guys. We really hate to give the typical, vague jabber of "plans" that so many bands do, but we are actually serious. Nothing is certain yet. We will inform you when it is.

And just in case you forgot...

Step Your Game Up Tour was...

Quite a lovely experience. Aside from the injuries and misfortunes we endured, it was great. A big thanks to everyone who made it possible and to our good friends in Silence O Israel. Those guys are the best.

Photos from Alex Raines should be up soon, and there are some videos up on youtube.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the shows, and made this tour worth it.

After the show tonight, we have a day off tomorrow which we are planning on spending here in Portland as well, then heading to the Quesadilla Factory in Centralia, WA.

So here are some things to check out:

T'was the night before tour...

Hello everyone. Well, not a whole lot to say, other than our Step Your Game Up Tour begins tomorrow night. Here are some videos of us preparing to embark!

If you pause at 1:03 in the third video and listen closely, you can hear Mitch fart.

So, this whole process has made us realize that we are an extremely fortunate band. We have encountered some things preparing for this tour that could've easily deterred us from continuing on, however with the support from our good friends and family, we were able to make it happen. So a big thank you to our good friends Silence O Israel and to all our family members for being so supportive. It means the world to us.

To all of those planning on coming out to a show on this tour, thank you all so much. We will see you all soon.

I'm not gonna lie. I ran out of silly things to sign the post with. So until my creative juices are rejuvenated:

Tour Preparations!

Check it out! We leave in a little less than a week! Who's stoked?!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlzGpi038Do

Just making a few last minute preparations before we depart. To quote the ground-breakingly intellectual (and extremely well written) lyrics of the song whose video was recently removed (Rebecca Black's song "Friday")... Well... We so excited.
